County officials met Friday and talked about what to do to fix overcrowding at the Wilkes County Jail, and Sheriff Dane Mastin says it was a productive meeting. Though no vote was taken, county commissioners were in consensus that the Sheriff's Department may use emergency, non-budget money to pay for housing inmates in other county jails when the situation becomes, in Mastin's words, "unbearable."
